Isaiah 57:9-11
New English Translation
9 You take olive oil as tribute[a] to your king,[b]
along with many perfumes.[c]
You send your messengers to a distant place;
you go all the way to Sheol.[d]
10 Because of the long distance you must travel, you get tired,[e]
but you do not say, ‘I give up.’[f]
You get renewed energy,[g]
so you don’t collapse.[h]
11 Whom are you worried about?
Whom do you fear, that you would act so deceitfully
and not remember me
or think about me?[i]
Because I have been silent for so long,[j]
you are not afraid of me.[k]
